The CDAO is responsible for accelerating DoW adoption of data, analytics, and AI from the boardroom to the battlefield to enable decision advantage. This mission has two parts: advancing deterrence by ensuring warfighters have the best digital capabilities and beating bureaucracy by ensuring the CDAO’s critical business functions have the digital solutions to deliver for warfighters and taxpayers.

The CDAO’s War Data Platform (WDP) program is dedicated to accelerating decision advantage throughout the DoW by ensuring data, analytics, and AI are widely accessible, understandable, and actionable. Serving as a DoW-wide platform, WDP provides consumers and builders with on-demand capabilities, featuring hundreds of curated applications for domains like logistics, financial management, personnel, and health. The platform also offers market-leading, self-service tools for key analysis activities, including data exploration, model development, and data visualization.
