NJVC is glad to be supporting the Foundation Sustainment Services (FS2) contract that will establish the acquisition framework for delivering the full scope of information technology services and capabilities to support the Information Technology (IT) sustainment services for the Foundation GEOINT Integrated Program Office (IPF) and the FG capabilities/services in support of the NGA’s Source Operations & Management Directorate’s Foundation GEOINT Group (SF).  

NJVC has an opening for an experienced Appian Developer to help enable NGA's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) mission collecting sciences, technology, and tradecraft measuring and modeling the globe to provide three-dimensional accuracy of every point in, on, or above the earth.

Work you’ll do   

As an Appian Developer within our Foundation Sustainment Services (FS2) team, you will:  

  • Primary responsibilities will involve coding, developing, integrating, and debugging Appian objects.
  • Write validation tests against existing baselines to ensure the integrity of the code during Agile development efforts, assisting with unit testing.
  • Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, deploy, and support enterprise-level BPM
  • Translate business process software requirement specifications into prototypes and
  • Support data gathering and analysis to facilitate risk mitigation and issue resolution.
  • May have the role of Team Lead in a development pod.
  • Deliver projects using Agile development methodology.
  • Explain key Agile terms and ceremonies to those newer to Agile, both internally and
  • Properly execute Code Reviews.
  • Demonstrate dominance of Appian to the point of being an escalation point that more junior resources could look to for guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Master’s and 6+ years of prior relevant experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 12+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience creating, configuring, and integrating Appian objects into a functional application, leveraging Appian’s expert-approved best practices
  • Familiarity with more advanced but commonly-used features and strategies for building advanced, dynamic interfaces and managing the application lifecycle across connected environments
  • Proficient in software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment
  • Proficient in AWS/Cloud technologies
  • Solid understanding of the Appian Application Components and Data Flow
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI clearance

  • Experience performing exceptions and escalations
  • Experience debugging, assigning tasks, writing to databases, and performing data queries
  • Experience with local variables
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
